Cambridge or Edexcel
Why the board matters.
Most Singapore international schools use Cambridge (CIE); a number use Pearson Edexcel. A student who has revised from the wrong board’s past papers has practised the right chemistry in the wrong format, and it costs them.
We ask which board at enrolment and align every worksheet, past paper and technique session to it. If your child’s school uses a board we do not currently cover, we will say so rather than improvise.
Why it matters
IGCSE is not the easy year.
At competitive international schools, IGCSE is not measured pass or fail. It is measured in A*s and 9s, because those grades determine IB subject selection, Higher Level eligibility and, eventually, what a university reference can say.
A student who scrapes a B in IGCSE Chemistry and then takes Chemistry HL is starting the hardest two years of their school life from behind. Our programme is built to move students between grade bands, not to get them over the line.
