Why five

Five is not a marketing number.

It is the largest group in which a tutor can still mark every student’s working in the room, in the lesson, and correct it before the mistake sets.

Above five, a tutor is teaching to the middle of the room and marking at home. Below five, you are paying for one-to-one whether or not you wanted it. Five is where the group price and the individual attention still overlap.

What we teach

Mathematics and science, Grade 1 to Grade 12.

Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics through to the IB Diploma, plus Biology and Combined Science at IGCSE. We teach these and nothing else — if your child needs a subject that is not on this list, we will say so and, where we can, point you to someone who does teach it.

The gap we were built to close

The leap from Grade 10 to IB Year 1 is the steepest of all. Suddenly a student is managing the Extended Essay, Internal Assessments and a full co-curricular schedule on top of a syllabus that has just doubled in demand. Students who thrived a year earlier find themselves underwater.

Arche Academy exists to close exactly that gap.

What parents ask.

Do you teach students outside Singapore?
Yes, and we teach them one to one rather than in groups. Our Kovan classes are capped at five students. Overseas, your child gets a private tutor on Zoom, scheduled around their school week.
How small are the classes really?
Five students, maximum. Not “up to eight, usually fewer”. Five. If a class is full we will tell you it is full and offer the next slot rather than adding a sixth chair.
What happens at the free diagnostic?
Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. We give your child a short set of questions from their current topic, mark it with them, and show you exactly where the marks are being lost.
